How much water should you drink every day?

According to DGE, it can also be more on particularly hot days or after an extensive sports unit. The Federal Ministry of Health (BMG) also advises 1.5 liters of liquid a day. If you are ill and suffer from diarrhea, for example, according to the experts, you should significantly increase your amount of drinking.

From a research perspective, it is not clearly verified that every person should drink two liters of water every day. So how many liters should it be?

The answer? It depends on the individual case. How much water a person actually needs per day is very individual. Basically, you should drink if you are thirsty. Just trust your body. He will report and request water if necessary. Once the thirst is breastfed, you do not necessarily need to drink.

Exception: Seniors usually have a reduced feeling of thirst. Diseases can also disrupt the desire for water. Then it makes sense to drink more than the thirst demands. However, if you are healthy, you don't have to pay attention to this.

A real flood of water can harm our bodies more than benefit us. If you drink too much water, you can use it to lower the salinity in the body. The kidneys also threaten to fail. In addition, too much water in the body can trigger or vomit headaches and lead to dizziness.
